Atomic Bomb Testing & Humans: Found Footage

by Rachel Gertz

I stumbled on this a couple days ago while stumbling down the YouTube rabbit hole. It’s bizarre found footage of American soldiers witnessing a test bomb blast in a southern state around the sixties or seventies.

I say bizarre because everyone is smiling and prepping themselves to bolt over the trench lines as the blast goes off. It’s almost as if they’ve forgotten the impact of the atomic bombs of WW II. That the prickling sensation that will melt their faces off is pixie dust and not deadly radiation. The Pink Floyd track really inflates that sentiment.

Just another thing to watch, look quizzically at your friends and say, “I don’t get it either.”

Oh and if you like that, then you’ll LOVE Little Baby’s Ice Cream [courtesy to whoever found this messed up piece of brilliance].
