This story broke just over two hours ago and it’s already clogging my Twitter stream. By the time I actually publish this, the entire Internet will have probably seen it. I’m posting it anyway. It’s just that good. It’s a video capture of Mitt Romney at a dinner of fellow millionaires expressing his true feelings for most American citizens. He pulls no punches here. This is the real Mitt. You will not see this on the campaign trail.
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.”
I know what you’re thinking… Romney is admitting that he voted for Obama in the 2008 election. Seriously though, this is great stuff. It’s like the classic movie plot where the protagonist publicly implicates an arrogant villain with his tape recorder.
Grab some popcorn and see the whole story with more video clips on Mother Jones.
